Teacher gifts. Every single year I fret to the very last minute about pulling these homemade gifts together, never knowing if my random bits of homemade nonsense will really pan out into some sort of thing resembling a unified gift. This year, at least visually, it came together at the eleventh hour.

Gosh darn it, I lost the link to this chai recipe I found on pinterest. From a woman who went to India and learned how to make it there herself. Anyway it’s divine! 2T. black tea + 2 1/2 T. sugar + 1 t. each: ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, whole peppercorns, whole cloves. Boil on and off for a handful of minutes in 1-1/2 c. milk + 1-1/2 c. water. Then strain into a mug and enjoy! Really. So good!

I’m picky about my fudge. There tends to be a gritty texture in a lot of the fudge world and I don’t much like it. This recipe I learned as a wee adolescent from my mom and it’s perfect. And super simple. (3/4 bag each: semi sweet + milk chocolate chips melted slowly with one can of sweetened condensed milk. Take off heat and add 1/2t. salt and 1t. vanilla. Spread into 8″ pan lined with parchment. Take out and cut with a pizza cutter. Store at room temperature.)

I’m go forward with reassurance that I’m not the only one making a mess of the kitchen this week! Happy Baking!

And this is why we repin the awesome stuff we find. 😉 Im glad youj have the recipe anyways.. I love real chai but I dont really care for all the copycat versions commercially available. They just dont taste the same.

We make our fudge the same way.. its so simple and so easy, its got my name all over it.. I dont eat it, but my honey does & he really does love it.. so does everyone else I share it with.

I am sort of the same way with extraneous gifts.. They all wind up coming together beautifully, sometimes, even when it wasnt planned..

Oh how I love Chai tea! Thank you for sharing that with me. I guess you are putting in muslin to put in boiling water…,right? If so, what are you tying with?
    Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I remember making the same recipe years ago (I am probably your mom’s age.) and thinking that it is the best and is not gritty! I added chopped walnuts to the fudge if for adults, and without for kids.
I will give your chai recipe to my daughter, Carrie, as she is a fan of chai.
Is it the chai that is in the picture of the little bags? Great idea…I love simple, but pretty wraps.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Thank you so much for all the wonderful ideas with easy to understand instructions. My daughter and I have made many batches of your lotions and salves and balms. (She lives in Montana and has the same problem as your littlest angel, with the dryness, especially with her two year old girl. But the olive oil lotion did the trick!) Sincerely, Chris

I made another round of the beeswax lotion for more gifts and one whole jar for us too:) That stuff is heavenly! I also finally made the deodorant and am loving that too!
Thanks for sharing all your goodness here~
    Merry Christmas!

These are adorable and look delicious! I am in love with your blog. I stumbled upon it while looking for a homemade deodorant recipe. I currently make my own using similar ingredients, but I use coconut oil instead of coco butter. I will definitely be trying your recipe, thanks for sharing!

I tried the fudge and it is the best I have ever had. Thanks so much for posting it. I would love your recipe for the homemade bread in the picture with the salted caramel pear butter.

I used your Chai recipe while my mother was visiting over Christmas, WOW. So delicious. Poor mom, can’t get her head around Chai tea and instead calls it Tai chi!! I did pass on the recipe to her though. Can’t wait to try the fudge recipe. Thanks for all your wonderful tips and recipes.
